Appeal after motorcyclist dies in Westferry collision

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died following a collision with a lorry in Westferry.

Police, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance were called to West India Dock Road, E14 at 8.16 on Monday evening after reports of a road traffic collision.

They found a male motorcyclist suffering from serious head injuries following a collision with a lorry.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken to an east London police station for questioning.

Police are urging witnesses and anyone with information to call police on 0208-991-9555 quoting CAD 8364/2 February or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
