The Met Police have released an image of a person they would like to speak with in connection with money being stolen from a blind man.

In November 2014 the victim had arranged for an engineer to fix his boiler.

A man turned up at the victim’s Romford house and posed as the engineer.

The suspect then took £1,000 cash and jewellery belonging to the victim’s deceased wife.

Trainee Detective Constable Deborah Wyatt said:

This is a deplorable crime where the victim has clearly been targeted due to his blindness.

I would appeal to the person in the image released, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us.

Anyone who recognises the man in the image, or who has any information on who he may be, is asked to call TDC Wyatt at Havering Borough CID on 01708 779 216.
