The Met Police Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating the deaths of three members of the same family in Paddington.

The suspicious train of events began Friday lunch-time when officers found the body of a man on a first floor roof in Westbourne Park Road.

The London Ambulance Service ‘pronounced him dead’  at 1.39 pm.

He’s been named as 30 year old Ashraf Amrani of Landor House, Westbourne Park Road.

His death is unexplained and a post mortem is taking place in Westminster today.

Enquiries by detectives led them the following day to his parents’ flat in Landor House.

It was an informing next of kin call, but the police discovered Ashraf’s mother and father, 59 year old Zohra Amrani and 72 year old Hassan Amrani, had ‘died in suspicious circumstances’ and have launched a murder investigation.

A post mortem into their deaths is going to take place tomorrow.

The Met police say:

Next of kin are aware. No arrests have been made. But police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this stage.

Ashraf Amrani had been jailed for seven years and two months in June 2010 after being found guilty of rape at Southwark Crown Court.

There’s speculation that he may have taken his own life after killing his parents.
