Police investigating the robbery of 93-year-old Stanley Evans have arrested a man on suspicion of robbery.
The 29 year old man was arrested at an address in Camberwell Monday evening.
He remains in custody at a central London police station.
Detectives launched an appeal for information following the assault and robbery of Stanley at Ingestre Court in Soho on the 31st of January.
He’d been followed by the suspect as he returned from the shops into the block of flats where he lives.
Police say while waiting for the lift to his flat the suspect grabbed his pocket, pushed him to the floor and stole his wallet containing £5 and then left the building.
Despite his shock, Mr. Evans managed to get to his feet.
He then took the lift to his flat and called 999.
Officers from the Westminster Serious Crime Unit are investigating.

29 year old Solomon Bygraves was charged with the robbery of 93-year-old Stanley Evans in Soho.
Bygraves has no fixed address and he’ll appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 18th February.
