Local MPs and hundreds of residents gathered in the Caledonian Road to hold a vigil last night for 15 year old Alan Cartwright who lost his life a week ago when stabbed to death while riding his bike.
Emily Thornberry MP tweeted an image of the event and reflected: ‘Tonight I joined the family of Alan Cartwright & 600 local residents, a week after his senseless senseless death.’
The quiet crowd lit candles and contributed cards, flowers, messages and objects to the growing symbol of remembrance outside Cally Pool- close to where the teenager collapsed after continuing to ride on from scene of the attack.
