Chelsea are out of the Champions league.

They were beaten on the away goals rule when Paris Saint Germain- known as PSG, scored an equaliser in the second half of extra-time.

Chelsea had the advantage over 90 minutes after PSG Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off for  a very late and bad tackle on Oscar.

It looked promising for the blues in extra time after Hazard scored a penalty and Chelsea were 2-1 up and the away goals rule was in their favour.

Jose Mourinho said afterwards:

I think they deserved to win. When a team cannot defend two corners and concede two goals, they don’t deserve to win. For them it was nothing to lose. It’s difficult because you have one player less but mentally you don’t feel pressure anymore. We need to react. We have a Premier League to win. I told that to the players.

Jose believes Diego Costa should have had a penalty and considers it a waste of time and money to have officials behind the goals.

Chelsea FC were gracious in defeat and wished their Paris opponents bon chance in the next round with a final ‘A bientot’ on Twitter.

PSG go into the draw for the last eight along with Bayern Munich after the German champions thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 7-0 following a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
