A 21 year old woman from south west London has been arrested by counter-terrorist detectives officers at Luton Airport.
She was detained at 11.15 this morning after landing on a flight from Istanbul.
She’s been arrested on suspicion of preparation of acts of terrorism and is currently in custody at a police station in South London.
Earlier the Turkish authorities said they had intercepted her in Ankara after she had travelled to Turkey.
It was alleged that the Turkish police found evidence that she intended to travel to the self-styled Islamic state across the border with Syria.
She’s being questioned in London on suspicion of Preparation of acts of Terrorism, under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

21 year old Jamila Henry from Waltham Forest has been charged under Section 4 of the Identity Documents Act 2010, with possession of an identity document with intent.
She appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning and has been remanded in custody to appear at the Central Criminal Court on 7th April.
