London commuters witnessed a familiar vehicle take to the Thames this morning, the Thunderbird 4.
The 15 feet model, which took over six weeks to build, made its way past the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament to celebrate the return of the 1960’s programme to ITV this coming Saturday.
Adrian Last, from ITV studios, said:
Seeing Thunderbird 4 cruising down the River Thames brings back a feeling of nostalgia for those that remember the show from 50 years ago and puts a smile on the face of the young. Londoners shouldn’t be worried though as Thunderbird 4 wasn’t out on a rescue mission today – it’s just battling the choppy waters of the Thames
Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike will voice Lady Penelope, with Kayvan Novak as Bones and David Graham will be reprising his original role of Parker, Penelope’s driver.
The new version uses CGI mixed with live action sets – not a puppet in sight.
