The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the nominations for the House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards for 2014.

In its 68th year, BAFTA recognises the very best in television broadcast in the UK.

Sarah Lancashire has been nominated in the Leading Actress category for her role as a police sergeant in Happy Valley.

This has also been nominated for Drama Series, with James Norton receiving his first BAFTA nomination for Supporting Actor.

Ms Lancashire won the Supporting Actress BAFTA in 2013.

Happy Valley is a crime thriller set in Yorkshire.

It tells the story of police sergeant Catherine Cawood’s quest to find her daughter’s rapist, an incident that drove her daughter to commit suicide.

Marvellous has received three BAFTA nominations  in Single Drama, Leading Actor for Toby Jones, and Supporting Actress for Gemma Jones.

It details the true story of Neil Baldwin of Staffordshire whose unique lifetime achievements inspired writer Peter Bowker to make a film about Mr Baldwin’s experiences.

The Missing has received three nominations: one in Drama Series, one in Leading Actor for James Nesbitt, and a third in Supporting Actor for Ken Stott.

It’s an eight-part series about a father’s (James Nesbitt) agonising search for his missing son in France.

Keeley Hawes has been nominated for Leading Actress and Vicky McClure for Supporting Actress for their roles in the police drama, Line of Duty, also nominated for Drama Series.

Boyd Hilton (Heat Magazine), Sharon Marshall (This Morning), Alexia Skinitis (Radio Times), Richard Vine (The Guardian) and Matt Risley react to the nominations here.

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London on Sunday 10 May.
