Paramedics in West London were presented with unusual scene yesterday when responding to reports of a collapsed woman in Southall.

Rachel Lack responded to the call out to find a dying bird with a crowd gathered around it.

The incident has attracted significant attention on social media and this has gone mainstream with reports by ITV news, the London Evening Standard and others.

The Internet wasted no time in coining the hashtag #BirdGate

A language barrier is the reason being offered for the mix up.

Whatever the cause, all the attention sadly comes too late for the distressed pigeon.
