Detectives in Richmond CID are today appealing for any information regarding an assault on a 28-year-old man in Teddington.
The assault took place at Teddington Loch on Wednesday 15th April.
Police were called at 11 pm to reports of a man suffering a head injury.
On arrival the man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
According to Detectives, at around 10.55 pm the man was walking over the footbridge at Teddington Lock.
The footbridge links Teddington to Ham.
He was walking with a female friend when they were confronted.
That confrontation resulted in the man suffering a serious head injury.
He remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The police are unsure of how many people were involved in the confrontation and what was used to cause the man’s head injury.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with any information to get in contact.
Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Service on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
