The police have released CCTV footage of a man in a hoodie stealing a brand new Range Rover from its owner’s driveway in a matter of seconds in a ‘keyless theft.’
Police in Waltham Forest are asking the public help identify the car thief.
The vehicle was driven off in the early hours of Sunday morning 12th April from a driveway in Charter Road, Woodford Green.
But the owner learned of what was happening when a tracker fitted to the car was activated.
The software enabled the tracker security company to alert the owner that the car was travelling without its allocated keys.
Later that same day, the vehicle was found by Police officers in Essex.
Anyone who can identify the man shown in the footage should contact PC Craig Johnson of Waltham Forest Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
PC Johnson would also like to hear from anyone who was in the Charter Road area around this time and heard or saw anything suspicious.
