A 34 year old man who strangled his landlady has been sentenced to indefinite and secure detention under the Mental Health Act.
Felix Gutierrez-Cortez was found guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Emergency services found the lifeless body of 61-year-old Anna Maria Thomas on the floor of her bedroom, covered by a duvet.
A pillow had been placed under her head.
The court heard how Gutierrez-Cortez dialled 999 and requested an ambulance attend their address Chilworth Court, Windlesham Grove SW19 on 10th December 2013.
A post-mortem examination revealed that she’d been dead some days before he called for an ambulance and she’d died from strangulation.
