Police are asking for assistance from the public in tracing a car driver who failed to stop following a fatal collision in Streatham.
A pedestrian died in the incident at around 3.10 in the morning on Saturday 2nd May.
Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Tooting Bec Road at the junction of Dr Johnson Avenue in Streatham.
They were responding to reports that a car did not stop after colliding with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was a 33 year old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.
Detective Sergeant Phil Hames of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merton said:
I need to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has information – including reports of a car which sustained unexplained frontal damage overnight – that may help identify the driver or the vehicle involved.
