A murder enquiry has been launched after a man was found dead in his cell at Wandsworth Prison.
Police were called to the prison at 7.35 AM on Monday 4th of May.
The dead man is believed to be in his sixties.
His next of kin have been informed.
Another prisoner, a man in his forties, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He’s currently in police custody.
The murder investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Reeves of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
Enquiries are ongoing.

Wandsworth is the largest prison in the UK, being currently able to hold 1,877 prisoners.
