Nineteen-year-old Chilean national Marcelo Guzman-Robinson has been jailed for three years and four months for committing ten burglaries across London and the Thames Valley area.

The burglaries happened over six weeks between the 28th of January and the 13th of March 2014 shortly after Mr Guzman-Robinson entered the UK.

He was charged on the 23rd of December, pleaded guilty on the 22nd of April the following year, and was sentenced on the 6th of May at Kingston Crown Court.

Stolen items included jewellery, cash, and computer equipment.

Forensic evidence at the scene of three of the burglaries as well as mobile phone data analysis linked Mr Guzman-Robinson to the offences.

Detective Constable Gary Smith from the Met’s Criminal Investigation Division said Mr Guzman-Robinson will be sent back to Chile once he serves his sentence.
