A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found in a suitcase in the Grand Union Canal on Sunday.
38 year old Thomasz Kocik will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wednesday, 13th May.
He was charged earlier this morning.
Kocik was arrested on Monday, 11th May with two other men aged 34 and 30, who have since been bailed.
Their court date is yet to be confirmed.
These arrests were made Monday night 11th May at separate residential addresses in northwest London.
The Met Police say: ‘For strong operational reasons we were unable to confirm the arrests until now.’
Although formal identification has not taken place, police are satisfied that the deceased is Marta Ligman, a 23 year old Polish national, of Buckingham Road, Brent.
The next of kin have been informed.
