A man has died in a flat fire at a residential block in Addiscombe Road, Croydon.
Firefighters confined the blaze to a flat on the ground floor of the four-storey building, which was partly damaged by the blaze.
They discovered the body of an elderly man there.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.
Two fire engines and ten firefighters and officers from Croydon and Woodside fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 10:30am and the fire was under control within half an hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
