Six people escaped from two semi-detached houses on Eynsford Crescent in Bexley after their two garden sheds caught alight yesterday evening.
The fire destroyed both sheds and spread to a rear conservatory of one house and rear door of the other house, which were both slightly damaged by the blaze.
The residents escaped from their houses before the Brigade arrived at the scene.
LFB said: ‘Fortunately, no one was injured.’
Watch Manager Andrew Roscoe who was at the fire said:
The two sheds were back to back, with a wooden fence between them. The fire began at one shed and spread rapidly to the other. When fire crews arrived both were well alight. The fire had also spread to the back of both houses. Firefighters had to work very quickly to stop the fire spreading any further and bring it under control.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Bexley, Sidcup and Eltham fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 7.07 pm and the fire was under control at 8.13 pm
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
