The Met Police are investigating an unprovoked stabbing of a young woman outside the Canal Bar on the Caledonian Road last week.

The attack by an unknown man took place six minutes to midnight last Saturday 16th May.

The 25-year-old victim was simply standing outside the bar when she was approached by the unknown man and stabbed in the leg.

He ran off south along Caledonian Road before turning right into Wharfdale Road and then turning left into Killick Street.

The London Ambulance Service gave her emergency treatment at the scene and took her to hospital.

Although in a serious condition at the time, she has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

The suspect has been described as a light skinned black man wearing dark clothes.

Detectives from Islington Police are investigating and at this stage no arrests have been made.

Anyone with any information is asked to DC Christine Robinson from Islington CID on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
