A 13-year-old girl has been raped in Kingston-upon-Thames on a grass area near Barge Walk, Hampton Wick near Kingston Bridge.

The attack took place at 10.45 on Sunday night 17th May.

The male attacker was in his late teens to early twenties.

Detectives are currently seeking the whereabouts of a particular suspect in connection with this incident. This suspect cannot be named for operational reasons at this time.

The complainant met him the previous day in Camden High Street and they’d agreed to meet at the location.

The offence was reported two days later.

The victim has not required hospital treatment but has been supported at the Haven sexual assault referral centre.

An investigation has been launched by officers from the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his early 20s wearing blue jeans and a dark coloured leather jacket.

Detectives are keen to trace a young couple whom the victim remembers passing on Barge Walk after the offence at just after 10.45 pm.

The couple were walking in the opposite direction, towards Hampton Court.

The woman, who checked on the girl’s welfare, is described as around 25-years-old with fair skin, a blonde bob and wearing a denim jacket.
