In addition to emergency service motor vehicle units, a member of the London Ambulance cycle team reached the scene and was able to provide treatment.
Cyclist paramedics have the advantage of being able to navigate congested urban areas with greater speed and easier access.
They don’t have to ‘park’ their vehicles in the same way before attending to patients.
In large interior transport hubs such as Heathrow Airport, they offer the fastest, most efficient and effective way of connecting patients to first responders.
Great to see the @ldn_ambulance cycle paramedics on #britainsbusiestairport last night! bit.ly/1GcedQu http://t.co/TW1OsLH70V
