Two men have been jailed for life at the Old Bailey with a recommendation they serve at least 35 and 26 years for their involvement in the murders of 21-year-old Aaron Carriere and 20-year-old Josiah Manful in Leytonstone last year.
Aaron and Josiah were ambushed and boxed in as they drove along Montague Road, E11.
Their killers surrounded their car and stabbed them to death in a ‘frenzied and brutal attack.’
20 year old Devonte Campbell from east London has been sentenced to life in prison and will serve a minimum of 35 years.
22 year old Omar Hassan also east London has been sentenced to life in prison and will serve a minimum of 26 years.
They join two other men jailed for life and their minimum terms were 31 and 34 years.
Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Piscopo of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said:
This was a vicious and premeditated attack on two young men and the level of violence displayed is one of the worst I have seen in my time as a homicide detective.
I believe that there were a number of other people that were involved in the incident and we will continue to pursue our investigation until they are brought to justice.
