Surrey police are linking the discovering of the bodies of a mother and teenage daughter in Esher with the death of the girl’s father in southern France.

47 year old Lisa Anthony, 47, and her 14-year-old daughter Ava Anthony were found at their home in Simmons Gate, Esher yesterday morning at 10 am.

The force said it was linking the incident to the death of a man in southern France on Sunday.

The man, who has not been named, is understood to Mrs Anthony’s husband and Ava’s father, who lived with them.

Surrey Police said it was working with the French Gendarmerie but it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Simmons Gate is a gated community where homes are valued from £1 million to £2 million.

Police attended after concerns were raised for two people living there.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston, the senior investigating officer, said:

This is a tragic incident where lives have been lost and our thoughts are with their family and friends at this time.

We are in the very early stages of the investigation but we do not believe there to be any threat to the wider community and I would like to reassure the public that this is thought to be an isolated incident. We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Surrey Police said formal identification had not taken place but they believe the bodies are that of Lisa Anthony and her daughter Ava.

The deaths have been reported to the Surrey Coroner.

Officers are currently making a number of enquiries in the area and ask anyone with information which may assist their investigation to contact Surrey Police quoting Operation Caribou.
