A new report from the independent public policy think tank Social Market Foundation has found that regional differences for academic success have increased dramatically since 1970.
This coincides with former Liberal Democrats’ leader Nick Clegg’s launch of the Commission on Inequality in Education, of which he is the chair.
The Right Honourable Nick Clegg MP has given a speech this morning at Westminster’s Portcullis House to launch the Commission on Inequality in Education.
This coincides with the release of a report from independent think tank Social Market Foundation, which found that postcode inequality has increased since 1970, with London spiking in the success stakes.
Yorkshire and Humberside have some of the lowest academic results across the country.
It also paints an increasingly complex picture of multi-cultural academic achievements.
The worst achievers are under privileged white boys.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 19 year old midfielder Dele Alli says he’s delighted to extend his stay at the football club.
Alli has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season, putting in dominating midfield displays for Spurs as they have grown to become realistic title contenders.
The impressive player has been rewarded after his sensational first half of the season and his deal, worth £25,000 a week, will now run until 2021.
Premier Football Club, Tottenham Hotspur are having one of their best seasons in recent years.
They have lost only 2 of this season’s 20 premiership league matches so far, and are currently fourth on the premiership table.
To add to their victories, they have just successfully negotiated the re-signing of Dele Alli, a 19 year old midfielder who has been a key player in the club’s recent successes. A
lli told the Club News that he is delighted, and pays tribute to the fans for their support.
