When Whatsapp Incorporated was founded in 2009, its headquarters were at an anonymous office in Silicon Valley with a small team of staff.

Seven years on and the secret’s out somewhat.

Today it was announced that Whatsapp now has more than one billion users worldwide.

So how are people using the phone phenomenon? And who’s choosing to opt out of the instant-chat revolution?

The report below looks at how Londoners are connecting in a world increasingly dominated by digital communication.
