The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art has held its annual gala.
The gala is a fundraising event for the museum’s Costume Institute.
Stars turned out in force to the invite only event.
The theme for this years event was ‘Fashion in the age of Technology’.
The theme is chosen to match the exhibition by the Costume Institute.
Manus x Machina opens on May 5th and will run until August 14th 2016.
At this year’s event guests presented outlandish futuristic outfits.
Humans of New York photographer Brandon Stanton was at the event again this year and collaborated with Vogue to take photographs that made Humans of New York famous with a following of over 17 million on Facebook.
The attendee that gained the most attention for her dress was Emma Watson.

This dress took on the theme in more than an outward way, the dress itself was made from recycled plastic bottles.
Emma Watson used the gala to show the fashion world there is a different way forward, that the skills within the industry could be used to help the planet.
