It’s National Bike to School Day today.

So be prepared to be blinded by by shimmering pink handlebar streamers, or zapped by mini spidermen on bikes this afternoon.

The event has grown and built on the success of the Walk to School Campaign, usually celebrated worldwide in May and  October. These events are organised by the charity Living Streets that receives funding from the Department for Transport and the Department for Health.

There is also a Bike to School Week, in early June.
