New Cross fire station is the oldest operational station in Europe having first opened in 1894.
The open day on May 8th gives the community a chance to interact with firefighters and learn life-saving skills.
At the fire station there will be vintage fire trucks, face painting and memorabilia from the 150 years of the London Fire Brigade.
There will also be members of the retired firefighters motorcycle club and fire cadets for the community to interact with.
I went to the fire station to discover what our fire brigade does.
