It’s been announced that only customers who hold a season ticket will receive compensation for Southern’s recent poor service.
However, those who pay as they travel will not be eligible to claim refunds.

This will mean that the numbers of people eligible for compensation will be only 84,000 – whereas those left without will be 590,000.
A Labour spokesperson has called this decision ‘damned insulting.’
Police continue search for individuals connected with disorder at a football match

Police have released 18 images of people who are wanted in relation to crimes of violence at a football match.

On Saturday the 18th of February violence broke out between Millwall and Leicester City fans after the final whistle blew at The Den.
Two men are currently in custody in relation to the inquiry into the incidents.
Detective Chief Inspector John Oldham from Specialist Crime and Operations Public Order Branch said that those responsible will be dealt with ‘robustly.’
Brent Council has become the first London Council to encourage non-Christian assemblies in schools

Brent Council has become the first local authority to formally encourage schools to hold a non-Christian assembly.
Non-faith schools are legally required to hold one Christian assembly a week.

The council has decided to encourage schools to hold multi-faith and secular assemblies.
It is expected that other schools will follow Brent Council’s lead.

Carris Jones has been appointed as the first full time female chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Ms Jones is a graduate from the Royal Academy of Music who has been a professional singer for 8 years.

She was appointed unanimously to join three other male counter-tenors.
Ms Jones will start at St Paul’s in September after the birth of her second child.
She says that she feels ‘wonderful’ about her appointment.
