Queensbury tube shooting: one dead and another injured

A crime scene remains in place in Cumberland Road and Essoldo Way, where police say the attacks are thought to have taken place.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was found with serious injuries outside Queensbury Tube station, at about 21:00 BST on Tuesday, and died at the scene.

The other man, in his 20s, remains in hospital in a stable condition after a gunshot wound.

 

Police said they were investigating the death as murder.

The Met Police say they’ve carried out forensic analysis of the scene including ballistic examination.

CCTV footage in the area is being obtained for review.

The murder investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Update 12th May 2018.

The Met Police have identified the victim as 38 year old Leon Maxwell from Watford.

The post mortem examination has confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound.

Meanwhile the 26-year-old man who took himself to hospital the same night while suffering from a gun shot injury remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Detectives say they are continuing enquiries to ‘establish any links between the two men.’
