The former champion and number 1 seed Rafael Nadal has been knocked out of the Australian Open by 26 year old Austrian Dominic Thiem.

He will now face Germany’s Alexander Zverev in Friday’s last-four match, for a chance to meet Novack Djokovic or Roger Federer in Sunday’s final.

Manchester City face Manchester United tonight in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg.

Pep Guardiola’s side take 3-1 lead to the Etihad stadium.

Whilst City are the favourites, Manchester United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expecting his side to draw on their Champions League experience of last season when they came from behind to defeat Paris St-Germain.

Halifax’s Keegan Hirst disappointed at signing of Israel Folau

Keegan Hirst is disappointed at the decision of Super League side Catalans to sign former Australian Rugby Union international Israel Folau.

Folau was banned by Rugby Australia in April 2019 after he posted homophobic comments on social media.

Hirst said he felt ‘let down’ by the decision.

In Folau’s social media posts he had said that “hell awaits” gay people.

Jofra Archer out of T20 Series with South Africa

England bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the three-match T20 series with South Africa through injury.

He is also in doubt for the Test series versus Sri Lanka in March.
