Mayor of Amazon rainforest region pleas for help as COVID-19 pandemic devastates their health system
The mayor of the biggest city in the Amazon rainforest region has appealed for international aid because their health system is on the brink of collapse.
Manaus is the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, which has been devastated by the pandemic.
Mayor Arthur Virgilio has sent video messages and letters pleading for funds and medical equipment to 21 world leaders.
They include US President Donald Trump, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Eurozone Economy to Shrink by “Historic Proportions” This Year Due to COVID-19
The EU have released information showing that the eurozone economy will shrink by a historic amount 7.7 percent this year.
However, it is forecast that in 2021 the eurozone will rebound by 6.3 percent.
There are fears this will not be evenly spread as there are already concerns that because countries such as Italy and Spain who are wealthier than others could swiftly recover their own economy.
The European Commission stressed that without a common rescue plan, the EU project and the single currency would be in danger of collapse.

Lockdown in Germany is Being Relaxed with the Announcements that Shops will be Re-opening
Chancellor Angela Merkel has made a deal with Germany’s 16 states to reopen all shops in order to ease restrictions.
Schools are also going to gradually reopen this term, and football is expected to start-up again soon.
General contact rules still stay in place for a month.
A limited lifting of the rules has already begun but this plan is for widespread reopening.
Germany was one of the European countries to see fewer deaths with 7,000 in comparison to other Western European countries.

The North Korean Intelligence Service Denies Rumours About Kim Jong-un’s Health
The North Korean leader was not seen for 20 days missing important public appearances such as his grandfathers birthday – one of the biggest events of the year.
Media reporters were suggesting that he was dead, but the most popular conspiracy was the he had undergone heart surgery.
South Korea’s intelligence agency say that there are no signs Kim Jong-Un had undergone heart surgery.
